Writing has been my "secret" passion for as long as I can remember. In fact, occassionally I'll find "creative writing" projects that I completed when I was in grade school that my mom has kept over the years.

It wasn't until I got involved in health/nutrition that I realized there were so many things I learned that I wanted to share with everyone else. So, my "secret" became public and since then (10 years ago or more) I've been jumping at the chance to inform anyone who'll listen to me about health related topics - mainly nutrition (and the misinformation that's out there).

I hold a Masters Degree in Nutrition and have been a Registered Dietitian for almost 10 years; although I have worked in a health related field most of my career (about 18 years).

I currently write for our hospital newspaper and a hospice newsletter, where I am a Medical Nutrition Therapist for our Integrative Medicine Program. I have written company newsletters for almost every place I've worked and for the college dietetics group. The thesis that I prepared for my Masters degree was published in a prominant journal - which is one of my proudest moments.

I've been a sports junkie my whole life...participating in school sports all through the year since 5th grade through high school. Even competed on the college mountain bike racing team. I've completed many triathlons, duathlons and running events. Through all of that, sports nutrition is a big focus for me including the specific topic of supplementation.

I've also worked with the pediatric population in many capacities for the last 7 years which has really pushed my attention towards nutrition/health for children.

I hope to help people make sense of the often complex world of nutrition/alternative medicine and direct them away from the misinformation that currently floods the market both electronically and in the media.
